New Beginnings: March 2025 Impact Report

YOU’RE Making a BIG Difference in Children’s Lives

HopeCo’s Vision: Transformed Lives, Flourishing Communities

HopeCo exists to rescue children in East Africa from abuse, hunger, and exploitation. We are dedicated to helping them reach their full potential and become leaders and changemakers in their own nations. And we are passionate about seeing individuals, families, and whole communities transformed forever by the power of Jesus Christ!

“For I know the plans I have for you…”

We see God fulfilling this Jeremiah 29:11 verse in children’s lives every day! And we want you to see the impact of your prayers and giving. Below is a snapshot of a few children from City of Hope in Tanzania and our Family Empowerment Center-Machakos in Kenya.

Meet SELINA…

This Seventh Grader attends Dr. John Chacha Secondary School at City of Hope. Humble, committed, and friendly describe this sweet teen! Her good grades show how serious she takes her education. Netball is her favorite sport and she performed so well that she’s been moved to an advanced level. Selina is also actively involved in a young ladies’ leadership group for students. Please pray for her to perform well on the National Exam and to grow in her commitment to serving God.

Meet PETER…

Peter is grateful to be able to go to school, something his parents couldn’t afford to provide. Through our FEC-Machakos program, he also receives meals, professional counseling, and a safe place to spend time socializing with other children. He also hears how much Jesus loves him! This Seventh Grader loves playing football and singing in the church choir. Please pray for this kind-hearted boy’s family and that he would be encouraged by the improvement he sees as he works hard in the classroom.

Meet SAMWEL…

This young boy is in Second Grade at Destiny Primary School and his grades are excellent! The last of six children, after Samwel’s father left, his mother did her best to provide for her family but wasn’t able to feed everyone, let alone buy the required school uniforms and textbooks. Known as a happy, friendly, and humble boy, Samwel gets along with everyone. He enjoys playing football with the staff and his friends. Samwel is working hard to memorize Bible verses. Please pray for him to continue doing well in school and that the Bible verses he memorizes transform him.

Meet MEMORY…

After the parents abandoned their children, the oldest sister did her best to provide for Memory and the youngest of the eight siblings. But as she saw their health begin to fail, she realized she needed help. Our Family Empowerment Center heard about these children and immediately began to provide daily meals, counseling support, an education at a local school, and more! Memory is thriving; her favorite subjects are art and science. This cheerful young lady loves to sing and leads others in worship. Please pray for her family and for her English to improve.

Meet AVITUS …

We’re glad God brought Avitus to City of Hope! This Second Grader works hard to make good grades when he’s not playing soccer with his friends. Caring and respectful best describe Avitus. He enjoys singing in the choir in Sunday school and has been memorizing Bible verses. Please pray for Avitus to continue his good progress in school, with his friends, and that he would come to know the God of the Bible that he studies.

Meet IRENE …

This sweet girl came to live at City of Hope two years ago with her sister after her mother died and her father left. She attends Destiny Primary School and is doing well. Irene loves to draw and color and play with her friends. The smile on her face reflects her cheerful attitude, even though she is shy. She gets along well with everyone and we are delighted to be able to give Irene the love and care she needs! Please pray for Irene to thrive.

“All of these sweet children deserve kindness, love, and care. We are praying God will provide sponsors for every child in our program.”
